Interactive Mapping
Purpose-built maps, spatial dashboards, geographic analysis, land and resource intelligence, and tools for communicating location-based information.
An independent look at Alberta's 2026 referendum results—and an example of how Clayton Smith Consulting turns complex information into interactive maps, geographic analysis and practical decision-support tools.
The project
Explore the results of all 10 referendum questions across Alberta's 87 electoral divisions, down to individual voting areas. The interactive geographic interface helps readers compare patterns across the province, between ridings and within local communities.
The map was developed independently by Clayton Smith Consulting using results published by Elections Alberta. It is not an official Elections Alberta application and is not endorsed by Elections Alberta or the Government of Alberta.
Source & interpretation
Elections Alberta results are the authoritative source for reported counts and certification. The presentation and any derived geographic comparisons on this site are independent.
Voting areas are reporting geographies, not necessarily neighbourhoods or physical voting locations. Boundaries and visualizations should not be treated as official legal descriptions.

Our approach
Effective mapping and AI solutions begin with a clear question, dependable information and an understanding of how the outcome will be used. We favour focused implementations that make information easier to interpret, apply and maintain.
This referendum viewer is a public demonstration of that approach: published datasets brought together in a navigable geographic experience.
